DENTAL IMPLANTS

Dental Implant Procedure

Dental implants have long been recognized by dental experts as the most effective dental procedure of choice for teeth replacement. Dental implants are substitutes for the roots of missing teeth and are designed to last a lifetime. Because they are fused in the jawbone and are not visible once surgically placed, dental implants are the closest you can get to healthy, natural teeth.

Losing a tooth (or teeth) can be a shattering experience — emotionally and professionally. Aside from the obvious problems of poor physical appearance and damaged self-esteem, missing teeth also cause subsequent dilemmas like loss of chewing ability or ineffective speech.

Dental implants are uniquely stable, eliminating the need for removable or partial dentures. They can also serve as an anchor for other dental prostheses like crowns, bridges and dentures.

With dental implants, you will be able to eat, speak, smile and laugh confidently. You will never have to worry about your teeth all while enjoying your everyday life.

At Epione Dental Care, our oral surgeons don’t just “place dental implants”, they have trained and dedicated their careers as dental implant experts. With the many years of specialized training and the most advanced facilities, Epione Dental Care is now known to be the go-to place in Pondicherry for dental implants with the highest success rate.

F.A.Q's ON DENTAL IMPLANTS

Are Implants, new era of dentistry reliable enough as a treatment?

History of dental implants in India and around goes back in 1960’s over fifty years ago. Since then the implant design has been modified to make it more suitable for treatment. Today implant design has been made into such that it allows it to be quick fix & successful.

What is the success rate of Dental Implants?

Scientifically studies have shown dental implants survival rates to be 90% or more.

As said dental implants are placed into the jaw bone, is it painful to undergo the treatment?

Like all invasive surgical treatments implants are also placed under local anesthesia whilst the anesthesia works to desensitize your nerve endings for a while so that you don’t feel any pain while we place the Implants. Yes we do agree about some mild discomfort or odd feeling (something not major to be worried about) after the implant surgery lasting for one or two days which can be avoided with any pain killer.

How long dental Implant treatment does goes on?

Implant treatment differs substantially in every case depending upon individual bone. A simple single implants case in the jaw can sometimes be finished in less than 3 months whereas complicated cases with deficient bone might long for as much as two years. Mostly some cases take less than a year to complete. In certain circumstances implants can be placed into the jaw along with the delivery of the crown, all in one day or over much shorter period of time than normal.

What is the reason behind such long period of time for Implants?

Our philosophy states that the sole purpose for any treatment should be emphasized on the success rather than the speed alone. Its scientific explanation goes to the fact that successful dental treatment relies on the healing of the jaw bones & gums. Similarly the gum needs to heal around the new crown or cap placed onto the implant for esthetic & long lasting results. Hence sufficient time for healing has to be allowed before the next stage. In some special case situations the treatment can be carried out with implants placed & restored as soon as possible only after significant healing. How long your treatment time would take can only be figured out after thorough consultation & examination.

I want to go for the Implant treatment. But what can you do to help about the anxiety I have before the treatment?

Though we make sure to assure the patient to inform & go ahead about the procedure of the treatment to be painless, thanks to local anesthesia & our careful evaluation during the surgery. If the nervousness still persists intravenous sedation can be given. It makes you feel relaxed through the procedure. At the end of the procedure you’ll be discharged after you recover.
